Latest company news about Copper production in Peru increased by 3.3% in the first five months

According to Reuters, quoted by Miningweekly, data released by Peru's Ministry of Energy and Mines recently showed that the country's copper output in May was 226,096 tons, up 2.3% year-on-year.

This preliminary report by the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru shows that in the first five months of this year, Peru's copper production totaled 1.14 million tons, up 3.3% year-on-year.

In 2025, Peru's copper output was 2.77 million tons, which was basically the same in the past three years, mainly due to the lack of new projects, social conflicts in major mines and the decline in grade.

Peru is the third largest copper producer in the world.
