Description:
A yellowish powder or pellet with a pungent odour, soluble in water.

 

Principal uses:
Sodium isoamyl xanthate is a strong collector. It is used in the flotation processes of nonferrous metallic minerals where a strong but a non-selective collector is desired . It is a good collector for the flotation of tarnished sulfide or copper oxide and lead oxide ores (after sulfidation by Na2S or NaHS).
In the flotation of copper-nickel sulfide and auriferous pyrite ect , sodium isoamyl xanthate is also a good collector .
